The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy held a stakeholder workshop on February 20, 2026, to review draft Floating Solar PV potential and policy frameworks prepared by National Institute of Solar Energy and Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. With only 700 MW commissioned due to land constraints and policy gaps, MNRE urged States to identify sites, streamline approvals, and support innovative models.
