The African Development Bank has approved $58.04 million in grant funding to develop a 34 MW solar mini-grid project in Eritrea’s Gash Barka region, benefiting around 306,000 people. Part of the Bank’s Desert to Power program, the initiative will expand electricity access, strengthen 542 km of distribution lines, and support agriculture through irrigation and cold storage.
