MNRE has approved a 500 MW pilot Contract for Difference (CfD) scheme, to be implemented by SECI, to support renewable energy integration. Under this mechanism, developers sell power in markets while SECI settles differences between market and strike prices, ensuring stable revenues. The scheme includes a ₹76 crore stabilization fund, reverse bidding, and a 12-year contract period.
