The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued draft guidelines to include emissions from off-site water drawal and treatment in green hydrogen production. Aligned with ISO 19870:2023 under the Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme of India, the framework expands emission accounting beyond plant boundaries.
