Sarawak Energy has launched first utility Scale BESS in Malaysia. The 60 MW BESS which was energized in December 2024, provides essential services such as grid services including primary spinning reserve, voltage and frequency regulation & peak demand management. Sarawak Energy currently stores the batteries in 22 containers which can be easily deployed anywhere in the rural areas wherever needed.
