Maharashtra approved the ₹12,303 crore MAGESTIC scheme to raise renewable energy share from 17% to 50% by 2030. The plan includes 40 substations, transmission upgrades and 16,000 MWh battery storage. Around ₹8,616 crore (70%) will come via a World Bank loan, while 30% is utility-funded. The state will provide ₹1,377 crore equity support between 2026–2031, with implementation scheduled from 2026 to 2031.
