Lyra Energy, a joint venture including Scatec, has reached financial close for the 255 MW Thakadu solar power plant in South Africa. Construction has started on the first phase, with the second phase expected in H2 2026. The project, costing approximately ZAR 4 billion (~$240 million), is financed through a mix of non-recourse debt and equity, targeting 80% leverage, with Standard Bank as senior lender.
