KSEB seeks approval for four grid-scale 125 MW/500 MWh BESS projects

Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) seeks approval for 125 MW/500 MWh Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at four substations to manage surplus solar power. Planned capacities include 40 MW/160 MWh at Sreekantapuram and Pothencode, 15 MW/60 MWh at Mulleria, and 30 MW/120 MWh at Areacode. Implemented through NHPC under the Viability Gap Funding scheme, these projects aim to enhance grid capacity, reduce interstate power dependence, and meet rising peak demand and Solar integration.
