Kandla port in Gujarat is set to launch a green hydrogen demonstration project by July 2025, with a 1 MW plant that will supply hydrogen for buses and electricity, aligning with India's efforts to promote sustainable energy and reduce carbon emissions. The ₹13 crore project will fuel hydrogen-powered buses in nearby Gandhidham, and further investments by companies like Reliance Industries Ltd, Larsen and Toubro, Greenko Group, and Welspun New Energy are planned for additional green hydrogen and ammonia units at Deendayal Port Authority in Kandla.
