JERA, a Japanese power generation company led a consortium and won a contract for 615 MW offshore wind project from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and industry (METI) and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) in the Sea of Japan. The consortium also includes Tohoku Electric Power and Green power Investment and is set to be operational by June 2030.
