The Government of India is accelerating electric vehicle adoption through expanded charging infrastructure, financial incentives, and policy support. As of June 2026, India has 52,718 public EV charging stations, including 16,561 fast chargers. Under FAME-II and PM E-DRIVE, ₹2,912.5 crore has been allocated for nationwide charging infrastructure.
