Researchers at Nagaoka University of Technology in Japan have developed a near-white heterojunction (HJT) solar cell aimed at building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). The innovation uses nanoclay-based scattering layers combined with dielectric multilayer films (DMFs) to increase light scattering and whiteness while minimizing optical loss, achieving near-white appearance with less than 1% efficiency loss.
