Italy’s Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE) has approved seven new battery energy storage system (BESS) projects totaling 467 MW across Lombardy, Puglia, Piedmont, Veneto, Basilicata, and Tuscany. Major projects include a 130 MW facility in Loreo by EG Orchidea Srl, a 100 MW plant in Turin by RNE20 Srl, and three Statkraft-linked projects totaling 138 MW.
