India Targets 1,121 GW Power Capacity & 174 GW Storage by 2036

The Central Electricity Authority’s (CEA) Long-Term National Resource Adequacy Plan outlines India’s roadmap through 2035-36 to meet a projected 459 GW peak demand, requiring 1,121 GW of installed capacity. Solar capacity is set to reach 509 GW, with 174 GW of energy storage, including pumped hydro and batteries, planned to manage intermittency.
