The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC) ruled that Wind Energy companies are entitled to compensation for the cost of installing bird diverters to protect the Great Indian Bustard. The expense was deemed a “Change in Law” under their power contracts. The ruling followed petitions from four wind firms, citing Supreme Court orders mandating diverters.
