India and the European Union have launched a joint €15.2 million (approximately ₹169 crore) initiative to advance electric vehicle battery recycling, targeting the recovery of lithium, graphite, and cobalt. Proposals for this initiative, designed to establish a pilot recycling line in India and reduce dependence on imported critical minerals, are due by September 15, 2026.
