The Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) approved Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation’s (TNGECL) purchase of 1,000 MWh from battery energy storage systems (BESS) at six substations. TNGECL sought approval due to rising renewable variability straining thermal generators and grid management.
