India Allocates ₹5,400 Crore for 30 GWh BESS Growth

The Ministry of Power has launched a Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme to develop Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in India, providing ₹5,400 crore from the Power System Development Fund (PSDF) to create 30 GWh of capacity. Targeting 15 states and NTPC, it supports renewable energy integration toward India’s 393 GW renewable target by 2030.
