A consortium led by China Energy International Group has secured the EPC contract for Egypt’s 500 MW/1,000 MWh Nefertiti standalone battery storage project at Benban Solar Park. The plant, Africa’s largest standalone BESS, will feature grid-forming LFP systems and a new 220 kV substation, supporting voltage, frequency, and black-start services.
