The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) has requested the finance ministry to implement a blanket corporate tax holiday for compressed biogas (CBG) production in the upcoming General Budget. This incentive aims to attract investment and promote cleaner energy. With around 100 functional CBG plants generating approximately ₹1,200 crore in sales for FY2024-25, a tax waiver could result in a ₹100 crore revenue loss.
