Due to the harvesting season and general economic improvement, demand for diesel increased by 6.7 percent in April compared to the same month last year. Compared to petrol sales, which increased 2.5% year over year, diesel sales fared significantly better, according to preliminary sales data from state-run oil marketing organizations.
