Rio Tinto, the world's second-largest miner, plans to establish a battery manufacturing facility in Melbourne. This lab will produce batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) and conduct tests on battery materials. Although they currently do not produce lithium (Li), their Li project in Argentina faced mining restrictions in 2023.
