ContourGlobal, owned by U.S. investment firm KKR, has acquired battery energy storage systems in Italy with a total capacity of 1.6 GW and storage durations up to eight hours. These projects will position the company for Italy’s first storage capacity auction in September, aimed at boosting renewable energy use.
