Coal India and Onward Solar Power have won SECI’s 125 MW/500 MWh standalone BESS auction in Odisha. Coal India secured 80 MW/320 MWh across two clusters at tariffs of ₹3.04-3.05 lakh/MW/month, while Onward won 45 MW/180 MWh at ₹3.75 lakh/MW/month. Projects will follow a BOO model, receive VGF support of $18 lakh/MWh, ensure 95% availability, and use indigenously developed EMS software.
