China will end VAT rebates on solar panel exports starting April 1, 2026, and phase out incentives for battery manufacturing by 2027. The move affects countries in Africa that rely heavily on imported Chinese solar technology. Solar panel prices are expected to rise gradually, while battery storage costs may also increase.
