CEA Requests Data on India’s Grid-Forming Inverter Capacity

The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has asked domestic manufacturers to provide details of their grid-forming (GFM) inverter production capacity. This initiative aims to strengthen grid stability amid rising solar, wind, and battery energy penetration. Manufacturers must submit production capacity, configurations, and tentative costs for central and string inverters from 10 kW to over 1 MW by February 10, 2026.
