Canada plans to expand its EV charging network, with over $84 million allocated to install 8,000 new ports, supplementing the existing 30,000. EV infrastructure rollout slowed in 2025, with most chargers concentrated in Ontario and Quebec. As part of a broader $1.5 billion federal strategy, the government reintroduced EV rebates—up to $5,000 for electric vehicles and $2,500 for plug-in hybrids—and will invest in fleet transitions and public education on EVs and clean fuels.
