The Union Cabinet has approved Semicon 2.0 with a budget outlay of ₹1,27,500 crore to strengthen India’s semiconductor design and manufacturing ecosystem. The initiative focuses on six pillars including chip design, manufacturing equipment, fabs, ATMP/OSAT, R&D, and talent development. It aims to attract investments, enhance supply chain resilience, and establish India as a global semiconductor hub.
