Researchers from China’s NIMTE and the University of Chicago developed a new method enabling 100% voltage recovery in aging lithium-ion batteries. They achieved this by creating Zero Thermal Expansion (ZTE) cathode materials, which resist structural degradation from heat. These materials leverage oxygen-redox reactions to enhance battery performance and lifespan.
