A new Lithium Battery breakthrough by the US DoE's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) uses sublimation of Lithium Oxide (Li₂O) to create durable single-crystal cathode materials. This process offers a faster, cheaper, and more efficient method to manufacture nickel-rich lithium-ion batteries.
