Bengaluru will receive 4,500 electric buses under the PM e-Drive scheme, part of a national initiative to deploy 14,028 e-buses with a ₹10,900 crore outlay by 2026. Managed by CESL under a Gross Cost Contract model, the scheme includes infrastructure like charging stations and depots. Bengaluru’s share is the largest, followed by Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Surat.
