Australian researchers at the University of Adelaide have developed two innovative electrolysis systems that use urea from urine and wastewater to produce green hydrogen more efficiently. These systems require 20–27% less electricity than traditional water electrolysis and avoid generating toxic nitrogen by-products, instead releasing harmless nitrogen gas.
