Chinese high-tech firm Astronergy plans to invest $700 million in a 5 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Balikesir, Türkiye, using TOPCon 4.0 technology. Construction starts by year-end under Türkiye’s HIT-30 initiative, with phased capacity: 3 GW initially, expanding to 5 GW by 2028. The facility will focus on local production, exporting 80% to the US and Southern Europe.
