ABB and Rolls-Royce SMR Partner to Advance Small Modular Reactor Technology

ABB has signed an MoU with Rolls-Royce SMR to collaborate on small modular reactor technology for low-carbon electricity globally. Under the agreement, the companies will explore ABB’s automation, electrification, instrumentation and communication solutions to support Rolls-Royce SMR’s fleet of standardized 470 MW units, each capable of powering one million UK homes for 60 years and built using a factory approach for cost and schedule certainty.
