Maharashtra Adds 5,150 Electric Buses to Fleet & Converts 5K Buses to LNG

The Maharashtra Government approved the conversion of 5,000 diesel MSRTC buses to Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), allocating Rs 970 crore for the initiative. Funding is distributed over four years, with Rs 40 crore in 2024-25 and the rest through 2027-28. Additionally, MSRTC will introduce 5,150 electric buses to its fleet of 15,000, aiming to reduce fuel costs and enhance green transport.
