India to build two Nuclear-Powered attack submarines for $5.4 B
India has approved plans to construct 2 Nuclear-powered attack submarines, part of a broader initiative to enhance naval capabilities amid China's increasing presence in the Indian Ocean. The project, estimated at approximately 450 billion rupees ($5.4 billion), will result in six submarines built at Visakhapatnam. The new class will differ from the existing Arihant-class submarines.
