India Targets 54 Gigawatts Nuclear Power by 2047
India aims to generate 54 gigawatts of nuclear power by 2047 to boost non-fossil fuel energy and cut carbon emissions. Standardized reactor designs will speed up construction and reduce costs. Additionally, India plans to add 30 gigawatts of hydropower by 2030. Upgrades to the transmission sector and challenges in supply for subsea cables pose hurdles.
