CIL's contribution to the government fell to ₹28,930 crore

State-owned Coal India Ltd's contribution to the government exchequer dropped marginally by 0.6 % to Rs 28,930.27 Cr in the first half of the ongoing fiscal over the year-ago period. Coal India Ltd (CIL), which accounts for over 80 % of the domestic coal output. Total levies paid to the government in September also dropped by 11.1% to Rs 4,335.24 Cr from Rs 4,878.84 Cr paid in corresponding month.
