Adani Total Gas has launched a hydrogen blending system in Ahmedabad to enhance its piped natural gas (PNG) supply by incorporating green hydrogen, blending 2.2-2.3% of it into the natural gas for 4,000 domestic and commercial consumers in the Adani Shantigram township. This initiative supports green hydrogen production through electrolysis powered by renewable energy, promoting cleaner energy use while maintaining gas heating capabilities. As the company aims to increase the hydrogen blend to 8% or more, it encourages advancements in hydrogen production technologies, contributing to India's transition to low-emission energy sources. This launch not only aligns with India’s renewable energy goals but also opens avenues for increased demand for green hydrogen, stimulates investments in renewable technologies, creates jobs in various sectors, and fosters collaboration between public and private entities. Overall, the hydrogen blending system is a significant step toward a sustainable energy future for India, enhancing its hydrogen production capabilities and creating new opportunities in the green energy sector.
