Community batteries have been launched on Phillip Island, Victoria, and in Merland, Queensland, enhancing local energy storage. Six batteries on Phillip Island total 900kW/1,845kWh, part of Victoria’s 100 Neighbourhood Batteries Program, supporting rooftop solar without home batteries. Queensland’s Emerald hosts a new 4MW/8MWh battery, capturing 18.
