India has launched a ₹7,280 crore scheme to build a domestic rare earth magnet manufacturing ecosystem and reduce reliance on China. The plan supports end-to-end production, from rare earth oxides to finished magnets, targeting 6,000 MTPA capacity across selected companies. Firms like Vedanta Limited and Hindustan Zinc Limited are expected to participate.
