The Utility-Scale Technologies combined added 20.2 GW in the first half of 2024, a 3.6 GW increase from last year. The EIA predicts 42.6 GW of new capacity for the second half, including 25 GW from Solar PV. Solar PV could reach a record 37 GW by year-end. Key projects include Nevada's Gemini Solar-Plus-Storage and Texas's Lumina plant.
