Energy storage installations in the U.S. are rapidly expanding, driven by increased RE generation. In Q2 2024, developers added 3,011 MW and 10,492 MWh of Energy Storage, marking the second-largest quarterly capacity increase. California, Arizona, and Texas led installations, accounting for 85%. Growth is expected to continue, with a forecasted 42% increase in 2024 compared to 2023.
