UPRVUNL plans to develop battery energy storage systems at six thermal power station locations with 4,250 MW combined potential and Rs 5,525 crore investment, based on IIT-BHU Varanasi feasibility study. The sites are Anpara 500 MW, Obra 100 MW, Harduaganj 150 MW, Panki 150 MW, Parichha 150 MW and Jawaharpur in Etah 3,200 MW, with Jawaharpur alone requiring Rs 4,160 crore.
