Toyota is investing $124 million with Shudao Investment Group to build a hydrogen fuel cell production base in Chengdu, China. The facility will produce fuel cell systems and components for commercial vehicles, supporting Toyota’s goal to help China reduce CO2 emissions. Scheduled to open by the end of 2025, the plant benefits from Chengdu’s affordable hydrogen, green electricity, and government incentives.
