Tokuyama and OCI TerraSus have formed a joint venture, OTSM, to build a $666.5 million, 10,000 MT semiconductor-grade polysilicon factory in Sarawak, Malaysia. Scheduled to start commercial operations in 2029, OTSM will produce and sell polycrystalline silicon for semiconductors. OCI’s Malaysian unit currently runs a 35,000 MT factory in the same industrial park.
