Texas's ENGIE Begins Supplying 140 MW Wind Power to Sonoco

ENGIE North America has started supplying 140 MW of clean power from its Big Sampson Wind Project in Texas to Sonoco under a 15-year VPPA. The agreement covers approximately 83 percent of Sonoco’s US electricity needs and 52 percent of the wind farm’s output. Renewable energy credits from the VPPA are expected to reduce Sonoco’s baseline carbon emissions by about 19 percent, supporting its SBTi-validated 2030 emissions reduction goal.
