Terna SpA has secured a €1.5 billion financing deal to develop the 1 GW Adriatic submarine interconnection link between northern and southern Italy. The funding, provided by the European Investment Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, and backed by SACE guarantees, will be disbursed in three parts. The 250-km high-voltage direct current (HVDC) link, mostly undersea, will connect Abruzzo and Marche.
