Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited petitioned the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) seeking ‘Change in Law’ status for the safeguard duty imposed from July 30, 2020, to July 29, 2021, on imported solar cells under its 100 MW solar PPA with GUVNL. Tata Power argued the duty was unforeseen and increased project costs, requesting cost recovery.
