Tanzania has commissioned its first utility-scale solar PV plant in Kishapu District, marking a historic step in diversifying the country’s energy mix. The 50 MW first phase of the 150 MW solar park is already supplying electricity to the national grid, according to Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO), with full synchronization expected by March 2026.
